2018 isn’t even here yet, but it’s already freakin’ better than 2017.

Earlier this morning, Matt Healy took to Twitter to tease his fans with a cheeky surprise: a new EP. But when, Matty? WHEN?! (Hopefully this Christmas).

Back in early 2016, the band released their second album (with a ridiculously long name) I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It, and announced a follow-up record in April 2017 entitled ‘Music For Cars‘ that is scheduled for release in June 2018. Time has never felt slower.

“‘Music For Cars’ was an EP named for our love for Brian Eno,” the frontman told NME. “We’re using it as the album title now because of how meta and self-referential everything has become in the world of The 1975, and ‘Music For Cars’ was always my favourite title of everything we’d ever done, so it kinda made sense to wrap it up that way.

8 hours after his ‘one more EP’ tweet, Matty hinted that the EP may be titled ‘What A Shame’.

Well what a shame for teasing us like this, Healy. Give us some more details why won’t ‘ya!
