Fans, rejoice! Blink-182 have announced a new set of dates for their upcoming UK tour. Stemming from the release of their latest studio album, “California,” the newly-reformed pop-punk group will be going to different cities in the UK to promote their new material. The announcement was made during their recent guesting at the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show.
As previously reported, the band has been getting mixed reactions from fans after former frontman Tom Delonge announced his departure from the group. Since then, Alkaline Trio vocalist/guitarist Matt Skiba has taken over his spot and has been writing new songs and performing onstage with drummer Travis Barker and bassist Mark Hoppus.
In a interview for a new documentary, Hoppus revealed that Skiba was the only option to replace Delonge with. “The only person we talked about coming and playing our shows was Matt,” he said. “The reception to Matt was amazing, overwhelming. People were chanting his name before we even came out and played.”
Apart from the announced tour dates, Drummer Travis Barker teased about releasing an EP containing songs that didn’t make the cut for “California.” According to NME, the band might release the alleged EP around Christmas time.
Set to begin July of this year, Blink-182’s UK tour dates are as follows:
- July 3 – Cardiff, Motorpoint Arena
- July 4 – Nottingham, Motorpoint Arena
