When life gets so fickle and all else fails, we crave something zesty and refreshing in the form of tunes. It takes fewer muscles to crack a smile than it does to frown, and that, in light of this fact, you should be smiling from cheek to cheek because Orange & Lemons—infamous for their song ‘Pinoy Ako‘ that was used as Pinoy Big Brother’s theme song back in 2007—are making a comeback and I’m excited as you all are!
Last Saturday, Clem Castro and brothers JM and Ace del Mundo broke the news on their official website, informing their fans that they are FINALLY reforming after nearly a decade apart.
“It’s been almost 10 years now. We badly miss the music so we decided to add a new chapter in the band’s short history. We have officially reformed Orange & Lemons as a trio to continue where we left off. This is not some fancy reunion, but a decision to protect the legacy of the band and the songs that many of you know and have grown to love. New music is on the horizon and we promise to stay true to the sound we are known for with a clear-cut independent direction. We feel good at the prospect of playing our modest catalog for you in the coming months. Until then.”
The band had an unexpected split due to creative differences and left us all devastated. Now a trio, O&L are ready to take us to seventh heaven as they are coming back for the gods with new music that might or might not differ from their old stuff that we were so used to listening to back when the days were different and simple.
What’s your favorite Orange & Lemons song?
