The real mystery of life is not knowing when the next season of Stranger Things is coming out.
All of us tend to get reaaaally impatient when it comes to waiting for the next season of our favorite series. But thankfully, we found a darker, weirder alternative to Stranger Things (until it comes out mid 2019).
On December 1, 2017, Netflix released a new German mystery series called Dark. Just like in Stranger Things, a child goes missing in a small town filled with tons of secrets. The fact that the series is German shouldn’t be a bother, because once you start watching the first episode, the language barrier won’t matter anymore. (Besides, there’s this thing called subtitles).
While there are a few similarities between the two series, Dark is much more somber and more wary of nostalgia.
Stranger Things is all about adventure, friendship, and well, mastering the 80s aesthetic. Dark, on the other hand, is more focused on death, murky browns here and there, and well, horror. Don’t worry though, this isn’t a jumpscare fest kind of series. It’s somehow silent, and each episode is a slow burn. I’m warning ‘ya, it’s gonna get pretty exhausting jumping from one character to the other, scene after scene after scene, plot twist after plot twist, shadow after shadow.
We thought Halloween was over, but apparently for Netflix, it’s not.
