Candy Gamos — Radiohead doing a “surprise” appearance at Glastonbury Festival is not something that I would be surprised with. Like NME.com pointed out, they’ve done it before, and they can definitely do it again. More so now that they have been playing numerous shows and have been releasing ridiculously good material – all for our pleasure.
If you didn’t catch the news, the band also played “Creep” FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 6 YEARS at a recent concert in Paris! This pretty much sets the tone for the rest of the year (or two) for the band. And as the cliché goes, there’s no way but up (not that they ever sunk). So. Damn. Exciting.
The only downside in this whole scenario for me, is the fact that it happens in Glastonbury, not Manila, or anywhere in SE Asia. Obviously, I’m playing the bitter card here, but if you think about it, there is a huge possibility that they play in Manila, given the fact that Kanye just performed here. I know the genres are far off, but we all know that Kanye’s appearance opened a lot of doors for Manila to be part of the list of mainstream venues where big names in the music industry would perform in. Thaaaat’s just me.
At the end of the day, we all have the internet to thank for post-event material we can binge watch over beer and pizza. I’m 99% sure Radiohead will surprise everyone with a set at Glastonbury, and that it will be amazing. As festival goers would say, “I can’t wait to watch them live!” in my case, however, I CAN’T WAIT TO WATCH THE VIDEO OF THEIR LIVE SET!!!!
